Doggone Happy Animal Rescue in Sussex County raising funds for 3 rescue dogs

A small rescue organization is hoping to raise some big bucks. 

Doggone Happy Animal Rescue in Sussex County has 3 rescue dogs needing surgery.

One of them, Sebastian, broke his leg and his surgery was $4,000. 

They tell us they are a small organization but work like a huge rescue team, rescuing and adopting over 500 dogs in the past three years. 

But despite doing all that work, funding is low since they are a non-profit.  

Founder Dawn Mitchell says, "In order for us to keep rescuing and keep, we want them to have the best vet care and want them healthy. We don't adopt our unhealthy dogs in order to keep doing that we need donations to keep going."

On Saturday, they are hosting a Halloween benefit in Bethany beach.
