Cambridge hosts another successful Iron Man race

Iron man brought thousands of people from all over the country into Cambridge this weekend.

The Iron Man triathlon happened Saturday and participants said the weather conditions were perfect for the event.

47ABC spoke with two participants who have competed in several iron man races around the world.

They agreed that Cambridge stands out as one of the best locations they've competed at.

Rhonda Workman, an Iron Man participant, said, "The town was amazing the volunteers were incredible. From young and old, it was probably the best supportive volunteer race that I've been at, it's great."

The participants said as they were racing, locals were lining the streets, cheering them on.

They encourage other athletes who missed this years race to make it out to Cambridge next year to compete in the 2018 Iron Man race.
