Apple Scrapple back for 26th year

Thousands will make their way out to Bridgeville this weekend for the 26th annual Apple Scrapple Festival.  The event which began Friday is a way to promote the town and the agricultural industry of the area.

Organizers say the event has grown from 2,500 visitors at its birth to over 25,000, and is a major fundraising tool for local community organizations, helping elevate awareness of the agricultural profession in lower Delaware.

"Everybody around here talks about it…  I think it's a small town, cool little get together. I think it's wonderful. The foods good, it smells good tastes good. Everyone seems to be happy we go dancing everyone's getting along," said local Debbi Wood.

Activities will continue through Saturday at 11 p.m., and will include an all-you-can-eat scrapple breakfast, scrapple chunkin', a car show, carnival rides, live entertainment, and more.
