Queen Anne’s Co. Investigation ongoing after alleged violation of protective order near school

Charges are pending for a man, after deputies say he violated a protective order and had weapons in front of a school, in Queen Anne's County.
The Queen Anne's County Sheriff's Office says on Wednesday, deputies responded to reports from a Teacher's Aide about a suspicious vehicle across from the Queen Anne's County High School at the beginning of the school day.
According to the report, deputies found the green Dodge pickup truck in front of the Queen Anne's County Board of Education Warehouse, on Ruthburg Road, while canvassing the area. After speaking with the driver, authorities learned that the person had an active protective order and was not allowed to possess firearms or ammunition. Deputies reportedly noticed ammunition in plain view inside the vehicle. After reporting the incident involving the ammunition and the current protective order to the State Attorney's Office, deputies searched the truck and seized multiple weapons.
Authorities says the man was advised that he was not allowed on any school property and released pending possible charges. According to investigators, they will be meeting with the States Attorney's office in reference to the charges in the near future.
