Parsonsburg man charged after alleged burglary and assault incident in Salisbury

Walter Soriano, 38, of Parsonsburg

A man is facing burglary and assault charges, after deputies say he went in to his former girlfriend's home and assaulted her for allegedly having a new boyfriend, in Salisbury.

The Wicomico County Sheriff's Office says on Tuesday, around 10:20 AM, a deputy responded to a home, in the 1900 block of Pine Way, for a reported burglary. Once on scene, the deputy learned from a woman that her former boyfriend, 38-year-old Walter Soriano, of Parsonsburg, came to the home intoxicated and barged in without permission. According to the report, Soriano accused the woman of having  a new boyfriend and then began to hit her and choke her. Soriano reportedly took the victim's cellphone before leaving.

During the investigation, the deputy apparently noticed signs of injury that supported the victim's report.

Soriano was later arrested and charged with burglary first degree, assault second degree, and reckless endangerment. He was turned over to the Wicomico County Detention Center on a $50,000 bond.
