New rehab facility coming to Sussex County

Sussex County

A new and much needed mental health and substance abuse facility is coming to Sussex County.

Project organizers said the facility is being built due to a lack of options for those suffering from mental health or substance abuse issues in Southern Delaware.

The new, two-story facility will feature 90 beds and is expected to open in May of 2018.

As of now, the project is expected to add 130 jobs to the local economy.

A public meeting about the facility will be held in Georgetown. Advisory member Scott Phillips said various topics will be discussed at that meeting. He said, “I would certainly envision a status update on the project. Services to be offered [and] the numbers of jobs that it might bring to the area.”

The public meeting will take place at 10am on September 18th.

Delaware residents are encouraged to make it out, so they can learn more.
