Laurel house fire under investigation after reportedly causing $75,000 in damages

A house fire remains under investigation, after officials say the fire caused $75,000 in estimated damages, in Laurel.

The Delaware State Fire Marshal's Office says on Tuesday, the Laurel Volunteer Fire Department responded to a single story home in the 30000 block of Fire Tower Road. Once on scene, officials say there was heavy fire showing.

According to the report, the occupants were not home at the time of the fire, but two dogs were rescued from the home by neighbors and firefighters. No injuries were reported. Authorities say the fire happened around 9:48 AM and was put out at 10:45 AM.  The Laurel Volunteer Fire Department was apparently assisted by the Blades Volunteer Fire Department, Seaford Volunteer Fire Department, Gumboro Volunteer Fire Department, and the Delmar Volunteer Fire Department.

The total estimated damages caused by the fire is reportedly $75,000. This fire remains under investigation by the Delaware State Fire Marshal's Office.
