Event held to celebrate peace

Peace in the Park was back in Salisbury Saturday afternoon after a one-year hiatus to help celebrate International Peace Day.
Event organizer Scott Duncan says it's an opportunity for folks to commemorate efforts towards achieving peace.
Duncan says Mayor Jake Day was adamant about having Peace in the Park back for this year's International Peace Day. He says this is a way for people to come together with a like minded message and have an audience.
"It brings together all the people of a like mind who are interested, not only on a global basis, but at the local level as well. From domestic violence to neighborhood violence to disputes of one kind or another."
The event is also an opportunity to Build up enthusiasm and for people to see who else is engaged with bringing peace and form partnerships and coalitions.
