Dover airmen charged with sex abuse of a minor

Federal prosecutors have charged two airmen stationed at Dover Air Force Base with sexually abusing a 15 year old teenage runaway they let stay on base.

25-year-old Dalian Washington and 21-year-old Akeem Beazer are charged with sex abuse of a minor. Washington also is charged with child sex trafficking.

Court records indicate that the girl told investigators that she ran away from home last fall when she was fifteen and told a man she knew that she needed a place to stay. The man reportedly offered to hook her up with a friend but told her she would have to have sex with him.

The abuse reportedly took place from August 2016 until January 2017 until the victim allegedly told a social worker.

US Attorney, Elizabeth Van Pelt says, "What happened is we have two airmen, stationed at Dover Air Force Base who took advantage of a fifteen year old girl who had a troubled family life and had run away from home. In particular, Airman First Class Washington essentially bought her for sex for 20 dollars at the Dover DMV from an individual he believed to be her pimp."

Officials say that the investigation is ongoing, it's currently unclear if there were any other women or children involved.
