Community builds comradery through Family Fun Day

The community rallied together to hold their sixth annual Family Fun Day in Ellendale Sunday afternoon.
The event is happening just in time for back to school, with free book bag giveaways, and a special ceremony. The ceremony will honor its Fire and Police Departments with certificates and gifts from the town for their service.
The event is a way for the town to bring its residents together. Organizers say they hope the event will give new neighbors a chance to forge a relationship within the community.
"It allows those people to come in and meet the neighbors who have been here for years and kind of introduce themselves," said Mayor Kim Hughes.
The event was slated for Saturday, but weather conditions forced organizers to reschedule for today.
