Church Hill man injured in accidental dump truck engine fire

A man was flown to a medical facility in Baltimore, after officials say he sustained burns while working in the engine area of a dump truck, in Church Hill.

The Office of the State Fire Marshal says on Monday, around 11:18 AM,  the Church Hill Volunteer Fire Department responded a home, on Carville Road, after a man suffered burn injuries. The fire was apparently out once the five fire fighters arrived.

According to the report, Matthew Walsh was working on the carburetor of a 1974 Ford F-700 Dump Truck when gasoline vapors ignited causing injuries to his hands, arms, and face.  Officials say Walsh was flown to Bayview Medical Center, in Baltimore, for non-life threatening injuries.
