UPDATE Traffic Alert: Salisbury US 50 Bypass will reopen

After announcing an emergency closure earlier this week, MDOT says the the US 50 Bypass will reopen, in Salisbury.

The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration says that the eastbound US 50 Bbypass will reopen at 6:00 AM , on Friday.

Officials say that MDOT SHA and Corman Construction have been working overnight and through the rain since they announced the emergency closure, on Tuesday.

According to MDOT, crews dug more than 10 feet beneath the eastbound roadway, just east of Northwood Drive, to replace wet and loose fill material. The area was patched with asphalt on Thursday morning. Officials say drain pipe repairs have been ongoing throughout the day and will be complete by tonight.
