UPDATE: Body discovered in Ocean City identified

Police are continuing their investigation into a body that was discovered on the Second Street Beach in Ocean City on Monday.
Investigators say that the victim has been identified as 30-year-old Ashley O'Connor of Plano, Texas. Investigators do not yet know how long the victim's body had been there.
The Ocean City Police Forensics Services Unit has recovered the body from the sand with help from Maryland State Police crime scene technicians.
The body was removed at 4:15 p.m. and will be evaluated by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner who will find out a cause and manner of death. The investigation is ongoing at this time. More information will be provided as it becomes available.

Police say that officers are on the scene of a death investigation in Ocean City on Monday morning.
According to Ocean City Police, citizens reported seeing a body to city employees at 6:30 a.m. in the area of Second Street and the beach.
The city employees then told Ocean City dispatchers. The investigation is ongoing.
Police say that the person's gender and age is unknown at this time. The body will be taken to the Office of the Medical Examiner.
