Two dead after Charleston Shooting

Police say the gunman and a victim are dead after a hostage situation in South Carolina.

The Charleston Police Department says a man, described as a disgruntled employee, took people hostage in a restaurant, on Thursday.

According to the report, the gunman shot one person and held others as hostages at Virginia's restaurant, in Charleston. Authorities say that the restaurant, on King Street, was full at lunchtime when a former dishwasher came in and shot a male chef who he was angry with.

Officials say the hostage situation ended with the the gunman being shot by police.

According to the Mayor of Charleston, John Tecklenburg, the restaurant employee died from his wounds sustained during the shooting.
