Stuff The Bus Happening This Weekend

The Stuff the Bus campaign is back for 2017, looking to help families in need during the 2017-18 school year.

Taking place on Saturday, August 19th, it's an event put on by the Rotary Club of Salisbury and they've been getting more and more donations every year since 2002.

When they first started, they only received 16 backpacks. Now, the event is one of the most anticipated in the area for schools and families in need.

"We usually serve 700 children. So we're looking for, right now, as I look at some of the numbers I have. 3,000 more 12-pack pencils, that's a lot of pencils," says Mark Thompson of the Wicomico County Board of Education.

Thompson says they also need colored pencils, spiral notebooks, backpacks and everyday school supplies.

The school supply giveaway will take place on Saturday August 26th at the Christian Shelter in Salisbury.
