Salisbury Considers Proposal to Improve Parking Structure

Salisbury officials are expected to approve a proposal that would extend the life of the city's downtown parking garage.
The proposal was presented earlier this week during a council meeting.
The parking structure was built 41 years ago back in 1976.
According to a Pennsylvania consulting firm, the building is in pretty good shape but could use some upgrades.
City councilman, R. Hardy Rudasill, says the project won't include any major overhauls but will make sure the building lasts for another decade or two.
" A firm did come forward. I would so much call it improvements but as I would call it prudent maintenance that we need to engage in. Some things as simple as making sure we are using energy efficient light bulbs. Some things as complex as making sure things are fully compliant with applicable laws."
The proposed project is not expected to cause any disruptions in parking but is expected to gain the approval of the council.
The next city council meeting is set for next Monday, August 28th
