Police: Mother and son arrested for assault at Harrington apartment complex

Authorities say a mother and her son turned themselves in to police after an alleged assault, in Harrington.

The Harrington Police Department says on Friday, while on patrol, officers responded to an apartment in the Diamond Court Apartments for an ongoing domestic dispute, in Harrington.

Once on scene, police learned that 21-year-old Quantez Harris of Harrington, and his mother, 42-year-old Dorothy Hinton, of Dover, came to the apartment to pick up Harris' child from the mother. According to the report, an argument began and during the argument, Harris and Hinton assaulted two people and damaged property inside the apartment. Harris and Hinton apparently fled the scene before police arrived.

Authorities say the victims suffered minor injuries as a result of the incident.

After receiving arrest warrants for Harris and Hinton, officers report that both Harris and Hinton turned themselves in to the Harrington Police Department, on Monday.

Harris was charged with two counts of offensive touching, two counts of criminal mischief under $1,000, trespassing third degree, and conspiracy third degree. Hinton was charged with two counts of offensive touching, conspiracy third degree, and trespass third degree.

Both Harris and Hinton were later released on a unsecured bond.
