One injured in tractor trailer crash in Denton

One man was injured after police say a freight liner truck-tractor and car collided, in Denton, on Monday afternoon.
The Maryland State Police says that on Monday they responded to the area of westbound Route 404 and River Road, just before 3:00 PM, in reference to a two vehicle accident, in Caroline County.
According to the report, 48-year-old Daniel Hardison of Kernersville, North Carolina, was driving a white freight liner truck-tractor westbound on Maryland Route 404, and failed to stop at a red light. Officials say the vehicle then drove through the red light, hitting a silver Honda Accord, driven by 26-year-old Oseas Eliel Vazquez-Ixlaj, of Marydel, MD, on the passenger side.
Vazquez-Ixlaj was apparently injured as a result of the collision, and flown to R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center by Trooper 1.
His condition is currently unknown. MSP was assisted by the Caroline County Sheriff's Department, MSP Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division, Marylad SHA, and Caroline County fire and EMS.
Maryland Route 404 was closed for approximately three to four hours, and all vehicles were removed from the scene. Authorities say that alcohol does not appear to be a factor in this incident. The investigation of the collision is currently ongoing and charges are pending.
