Officials use traffic control after morning tractor trailer accident

Officials are still on the scene after a trash truck ran into the back of tractor trailer Monday morning around 6:00 a.m.

At this time, traffic control is underway  at Ocean Highway ( Route 13) and Stage Road. Officials from the Delmar Fire Department tell 47 ABC that specialized equipment will be in possible use, as the trailer flipped on its side, after the crash.

According to the Delmar Police Department around 5:20 a.m. they received a call about an accident involving a Republic trash truck and a tractor trailer.

Reportedly the tractor trailer was making a turn near the old G&M Sales building when the accident accord. Officials say that the driver of the trash truck looked down at some paperwork before realizing that the trailer was making  the turn. The trailer was then flipped on to its side off of the main road.

The driver of the trailer was reported to be walking after the incident. The driver of the trash truck was transported to a local hospital with non life threatening injuries.

An investigation is ongoing at this time.
