Local Domestic Violence Non-profit Participates in National Night Out

Continuing with National Night Out, many community organizations are participating in these events, one of them being "People's Place", a resource center for domestic violence victims.
According to the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence, 1 in 3 women and 1 in 4 men have been victims of some form of physical violence by an intimate partner in their lifetime.
And "People's Place" in Milford, Delaware offers support to victims and abusers through counseling, shelters and, a hotline to report abuse.
47 ABC spoke with Stephanie Rodriguez, a therapist for the organization, and she says the hotline is very busy.
"We have multiple programs within the People's Place Umbrella. So for example, Crisis Hotline calls I think averaged in about 14-hundred last year," said Rodriguez.
Rodriguez says anyone experiencing domestic violence can call the People's Place at 302-422-8058.
