Eclipse viewing parties across Delmarva

Viewing parties for the solar eclipse were held all across Delmarva Monday.
47ABC attended the Wicomico Public Library’s Eclipse Party where they were handing out those much needed eclipse glasses to the public.
Event coordinators said they had 550 pairs of eclipse glasses and ran out in under 45 minutes.
They said they had lines extending around their library, and they had about 150 to 200 people still waiting to get glasses by the time they ran out.
Afterwards, coordinators helped people make pinhole viewers so they could still watch the eclipse.
If they didn’t watch through the projectors or glasses, the library also had a live feed of the eclipse from NASA on a projector.
Scientists say if you missed this year’s eclipse, you don’t have to worry, because there will be another one in just a few years.
Nick Troup, Assistant Professor of Physics at Salisbury University, said, “The next one you will be able to see in the United States is probably going to be in 2024. That one will probably go from Mexico, up to Texas, and up to New England.”
47ABC’s Chief Meteorologist, Daniel Johnson, said that New York City will be in line for a total eclipse during 2024. Here on Delmarva, we should see more of an eclipse than what we saw today.
