With family member gone, relatives now hold on to her memory

"We could all live a little better if we kept her in mind."

Family members say 32-year-old Jessica White lived her life to the fullest with love and compassion, but to the beat of her own drum.

"She lived her life by her own music, she choreographed every step her own way and she made decisions with her heart," says Jessica's older sister Kathy.

The eastern shore native and mother of three young children was known to her family as Jessie. She had a passion for life, her family and tie-dye.

Her older sister Kathy and aunt Karen tell us even at a young age Jessie had a whole lot of love remembering one of the fonder memories -when she was just about 8-years-old.

"Sheryl told me, that's her mother, she told me that she went off to work one morning and Jessie was waiting on the step for the neighbor that was supposed to get her and so Jessie decided to call 911 and told the 911 operator that she missed her mom," says Karen.

The 2002 Bennett High School graduate will be remembered for helping others in any way she could.

"One of the things she used to do is grow her hair down to her butt and then you have to have 18 inches to donate to locks of love, so she would grow it down and get it cut off and donate to them," remembers Karen.

Her family tells us as sole provider she even left a job she loved for more than a decade to take one closer to home.

"She didn't want to leave but it was a necessity for her family. The benefits, the pay, closer to home it was a choice she made to help better provide for her children," explains Kathy.

But sacrifice and hardship never stopped Jessie. Her sister Kathy recalls a term they idolized as kids together from their favorite movie growing up. Hakuna matata.

"The song itself is just Jess. She didn't worry about the small stuff, she didn't care about what people thought about her."

A way of life Jessie's family hopes more people will live by to remember and honor the life of a beloved mother, daughter, sister who's life was lost all too soon.

The family held a celebration of life for Jessie in Kent Island where she spent a lot of her time as a child visiting her grandparents.

Friends and family members have set up a GoFundMe page to try and get trust funds started for the kids.
