Two arrested for attempted Milford Walmart shoplifting return

Two people were arrested after police say they tried to return stolen items using old receipts in exchange for money, in Milford.
The Milford Police Department says that they responded to a Walmart, on North DuPont Boulevard, where someone was trying to return shoplifted merchandise just after 6:30 PM, on Sunday. After investigating, police learned that a man and a woman had reportedly stolen items from the store without paying for them, and later attempted to return the items using old receipts in exchange for money and gift cards. According to the report, 36-year-old Pamela Wallick of Milford, and 29-year-old Jesse Smith of Harbeson, were identified by Walmart staff, before being taken into custody.
Both Wallick and Smith were charged with shoplifting, use of illegitimate retail sales receipt, theft by false promise, and conspiracy third degree. At the Justice of the Peace Court #7, both individual's bail was set to $4,000 unsecured, and they each were issued a no contact order with Walmart.
Wallick and Smith are scheduled to be arraigned at the Kent County Court of Common Pleas, in August.
