Stop The Violence Meetings Begin

SALISBURY, MD- Local violence is increasing year by year and families that are being affected are taking a stand.
Tonight was the first of many Stop the Violence meetings in Salisbury, where event organizers hope to inspire others to think about their actions.
The primary focus of the first meeting was to make resources available to young people.
"So now were going to try and work from there to create some resources and some things to help them better in the community and in their homes, school or whatever," says April Jack, event organizer and city councilwoman. "Even in the judicial system, were trying to work with our youth, so the mission has been accomplished so far tonight."
The event was closed off to media to provide a safe space for those coming to speak about the issues in the community. Their next meeting will be next month.
