Steam and Gas Show back in Easton

The Tuckahoe Steam and Gas Show is back for its 44th year, running through Sunday.

The show includes demonstrations and displays of antique equipment and home arts.

The equipment includes steam engines, tractors, and gas powered machines used at the turn of the 20th century.

Pat Harvey, a Director, has been there since the beginning, saying the show has grown from a one building facility to having over half a dozen.

The display include machines and equipment from across Delmarva, much of it used as the peninsula was in its developing stages.

Harvey says the event preserves the rural heritage of the area.

"It's just a lot of fun and it's a lot of stuff for the kids to see and do.  It really gets some of them engaged, some of them aren't exposed to this kind of stuff so they learn about mechanical things and all that they haven't been exposed to.  And a lot of good memories built here most people will come back year after year."

The event will also include blacksmith stations across the grounds.

If you plan on going to the event admission is $6 and free to kids under 12
