Police: Pedestrian struck and killed in motor vehicle accident in Dover

Dover Police Department is investigating a fatal motor vehicle accident where a pedestrian was struck and killed Friday, July 28, 2017.

We are told around 8:38 p.m., a 59-year-old male, crossed the northbound and southbound lanes of N. DuPont Highway from the East side of the road way from the area of Raceway Liquors.

When the man attempted to cross the southbound lanes, he ran directly in front of a Toyota Sienna minivan in the center lane.  

The man was struck by the vehicle, causing fatal injuries.  

The name of the victim is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
