Organization brings awareness about veteran PTSD caused by fireworks

For some folks, hearing the noise of fireworks doesn't always necessarily bring happiness and cheer, for example veterans who are suffering from PTSD.
That's why the folks over at Military with PTSD are looking to bring awareness about the unintended consequences of 4th of July fireworks. Members of this non-profit organization have distributed signs like these so veterans can put them in their front yard.
The signs are meant to remind neighbors to be a little mindful during 4th of July festivities.
"We don't want to stop anyone's celebrations. When veterans hear that sound it takes their mind to bombs and explosions and things like that," says Shawn Gourley, from Military with PTSD.
Members of Military with PTSD say fireworks that go off post 4th of July are usually the ones that cause distress for veterans because of the unexpected noise.
