Officials replacing a damaged drainage pipe under MD 346 in July

The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration will replace a damaged drainage pipe under MD 346 (Old Ocean City Road) just south of Carey Road in Berlin starting in late July.

MD S.H.A. will have to close MD 346 because of the work between Carey Road and St. Martin's Road for several weeks. Residents will have access to the roadway on both sides of the closure. Weather allowing, the $60,000 repair will be finished by mid-August.

M.D.O.T. S.H.A'S contractor ANA General Contractors of Ocean City will put in place the following detour for drivers: MD 346 to Carey Road to St. Martin's Road and back to MD 346. About 1,200 drivers reportedly use this section of MD 346 daily.

Along with installing a new culvert, crews will pave and re-stripe MD 346 at the repair site.
