High temperatures may be attracting more insects into your home

With high temperatures during summer months, many are staying inside to stay cool.

But you may not be the only one trying to avoid the heat. While temperatures rise, insects and bugs tend to creep inside your home.

We spoke with Turner's Advance Pest Management in Salisbury and they say bugs want to be inside with us because of the air conditioning and moisture.

They also tell us that this time of year it is common to find spiders, mosquitos, and even ticks inside.

Ants tend to gravitate more towards moisture sources, such as kitchens and bathrooms, and even dog food bowls.

Turner's says the best way to be proactive is to seek out professional help. You should also find entry points that they are getting in, cracks in the foundation, and to not leave doors open.

If you do seek professional help, many businesses offer routine services to eliminate mosquitos and ticks once a month.

For home owners, quarterly services are the best route to go.
