Georgetown woman arrested after reportedly trying to run over a woman twice

A Georgetown woman was arrested after police say she tried to hit a woman with a vehicle in an apartment parking lot.

Georgetown Police say they responded to an assault complaint at the Dunbarton Apartments in Georgetown on Sunday, around 10 PM. After arriving at the apartments, officers reportedly spoke with two women in the parking lot. After investigating, Police say they learned that the woman was standing in the parking lot when the 44-year-old Sacajawea Whaley, of Georgetown, came speeding into the parking and tried to hit the victim.

According to the report, the victim was able to avoid being hit, by running into the stairwell of the apartment complex. The suspect reportedly then got out of the vehicle, and began physically assaulting the victim by hitting and kicking her. Police say the victim freed herself, but was hit on the head with a glass bottle by the suspect, while walking away. The suspect reportedly got back in the vehicle, and tried to hit the victim again by speeding in her direction. The victim avoided being hit by the vehicle again, and was able to call 911. In the end, the victim had minor injuries to her head and arm from the assault.

Authorities say Whaley was taken into custody on scene without incident. Whaley was charged with reckless endangering first degree, assault third degree, criminal mischief, and possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony. She was arraigned at the Justice of the Peace Court 3 and committed to Baylor women's Correctional Institution on $8,750 secured bail.
