Environmentalist teaches people about water monitoring

Community members came together this evening, in Salisbury to learn more about water monitoring.
It's an effort to help protect safe drinking water in our area.
An environmentalist from the Socially Responsible Agricultural Project, also known as SRAP, made a stop in Salisbury to provide free training to anyone interested in water monitoring.
She tells 47 ABC that the Eastern Shore's factory farming brings a number of risks.
Risks like water contamination to nearby residents, contamination of wells, drinking water and waterways.
That's why she wants to teach people how to test their water and what to do when they get unnerving results
"Training of water quality and teaching people how to monitor what's in the water is empowering them to know what's going on for their families, for their children, and for future generations," says Lynn Henning, a SRAP Water Ranger.
Henning also gave them boots-on-the-ground practical training by using indicator test strips to determine whether more aggressive sampling may be warranted.
