Duo arrested in connection with Lincoln area home burglaries

Police say that they arrested a boyfriend and a girlfriend in a series of home burglaries on Tuesday that happened in the Lincoln area.

Delaware State Police Criminal Investigators at Troop four say that they arrested 32-year-old Christopher Malvas and 30-year-old Cheryl Bracey, both of Lincoln, in connection with multiple home burglaries committed at several homes on Greentop Road, Mayhew Drive, Fleatown Road and Cubbage Pond Road. The burglaries allegedly happened between April and June of 2017.

Police say that the crimes happened throughout the day to homes and outbuildings that were empty at the time. Once breaking into the houses or outbuildings, the duo would reportedly take electronic devices, money, jewelry, lawn equipment, scrap metal and other power tools. They would then allegedly try to sell or trade them for drugs.

Malvas was charged with six counts of burglary, two counts of possession of burglar tools, nine counts of theft, two counts of attempted burglary, four counts of attempted theft, eight counts of conspiracy, six counts of criminal mischief, unlawful use of a credit card and resisting arrest. He was arraigned at JP two and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution of $81,800 cash bond.

Bracey was charged with three counts of burglary, possession of burglar tools, seven counts of theft, two counts of attempted burglary, attempted theft, seven counts of conspiracy, three counts of criminal mischief, unlawful use of a credit card and resisting arrest.

She was arraigned at JP two and committed to Delores J. Baylor Women's Correctional Institution on $14,750 secured bond.
