Deputies: Baggie with oxycodone and cocaine leads to arrest of Temperanceville man

Deputies say that a Temperanceville, Virginia man was arrested after dropping a baggie containing oxycodone and cocaine in the parking lot of Chicken BBQ in Salisbury on Saturday morning.
According to the Wicomico County Sheriff's Office, on Saturday at 9:30 a.m., a deputy responded to a Chicken BBQ on Snow Hill Road for the report of a customer who had dropped a baggie containing pills and a white powdery subsance in the parking lot of the event.
The deputy learned that a man identified as 41-year-old Hubert Herring of Temperanceville, reportedly dropped the baggie as he left his truck to buy something at the BBQ event. Herring reportedly drove away without picking the baggie up.
Deputies say that Herring came back to the lot before deputies arrived after he allegedly realized that he did not have the baggie anymore but left when he could not find it. The deputy reportedly identified the pills in the baggie as oxycodone and the white substance as cocaine.
Authorities say that the deputy was not able to find Herring and left the area. Deputies say that the official learned that Herring had returned for a second time to try and find the baggie when the deputy was able to respond back and arrest Herring.
Following investigation, Herring reportedly admitted to dropping the baggie. After placing Herring under arrest, the deputy allegedly found additional drug paraphernalia along with marijuana and a smoking device on Herring.
The deputy transported Herring to the Central Booking Unit where he was processed and taken in front of the District Court Commissioner. Following a first appearance, the Commissioner released Herring on personal recognizance on possession of a controlled dangerous substance: cocaine, possession of a controlled dangerous substance: oxycodone and possession of drug paraphernalia.
