Delaware holds up it’s deal with correctional officers

The White House is experiencing blow back from their request for states' to release voter information. State's refusing to hand over personal information to help with the White Houses search into possible voter fraud, including Delaware, Maryland and Virginia.

Following the election President Donald Trump formed a special commission to investigate voter fraud after he alleged millions voted illegally causing him to lose the popular vote.  The commission sent letters last week to all states asking them to provide voter information.

"We will not comply, I've had so many phone calls and emails from citizens around the state of Delaware, all four of our offices have been inundated with phone calls and emails from voters who are asking us not to send any of their information," said Delaware Election Commissioner Elaine Manlove.

Among the things the commission is requesting are the last four digits of voters social security numbers, information on felony convictions and birthdays.

States have said they're forbidden to provide the requested information. The office of the attorney general in Maryland releasing a statement that the requested disclosure is quote "prohibited by law. "

Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe releasing this statement on Twitter that reads in part "I have no intention of honoring this request – this entire commission is based on the specious and false notion that there was widespread voter fraud last November."

Manlove said the request was unprecedented.

"They're studying the registration and voting processes used in federal elections and they're going to submit a report to the president that identifies laws, rules, policies, activities, strategies and practices that enhance or undermine the American people's confidence in the integrity of the federal election process," Manlove said. "We'll if the emails I've received today have said anything about the people's confidence, they are confident that what we're doing is the right thing."

As of  Monday over 25 states have refused to hand over voter information including California a state that the president singled out for serious voter fraud.

Over the weekend President Trump chastised states failing to comply tweeting that "numerous states are refusing to give information to the very distinguished Voter Fraud panel…What are they trying to hide."
