CATA creates new community garden in Salisbury

A new community garden is going to be placed July 8, 2017 in Salisbury and they need some helping hands.

The group "CATA" is organizing these efforts. "CATA" means the farm-worker support committee in Spanish.

It's a non-profit organization founded by migrant farm-workers in southern New Jersey.

And their organization is now creating a new garden at the intersection of Parsons Road and Fitzwater Street.

They have a 10-year lease with the city to utilize that space at a public park.

We are told this is important for the community in order to access chemical free food.

Anyone interested in participating, they are meeting at 8 a.m.

We are told they are welcoming volunteers and if you can, to bring some tools.
