Camp Fury Comes To Delaware

Jobs in Emergency Services are mostly male dominated and The Delaware State Fire school is trying to change that trend with the creation of Camp Fury.
Camp Fury is the first of it's kind in Delaware, an all-girl camp that is a two-day, day camp that will show girls ages 13 to 17 a variety of areas in Emergency Services, such as fire, EMS and law enforcement.
The camp is modeled after ones in Arizona and Norfolk and will feature guest speakers and hands-on sessions each day.
"It's absolutely a recruitment tool for us. And as we said, we're attempting to reach a market here, for lack of a better term, that's not always been addressed as well as it should be, but very valuable to us," said Mike Lowe, There's a job in Emergency Services for everyone, for everyone that's interested, there is a job."
The camp is free of charge and will take place on August 19th to 20th at the Delaware Fire Service Center in Dover.
