Boardwalk ride inspection comes back clean

Following the tragic incident at the Ohio State Fair Wednesday night, one local amusement park decided to take matters into their own hands and ask for an inspection of a very similar ride.
One teenager was killed and seven other people were injured when the Fireball ride came apart mid-air.
Ocean City's Trimper's Rides decided to inspect the "Freakout," a pendulum ride that is a miniature version of Fireball. The two rides are made by the same manufacturer, KMG.
Brooks Trimper, Operations Manager for the park, says the park decided to inspect the ride Thursday morning while the park was closed, before the state had asked the park to conduct the inspection.
The inspection came back clean, and the ride was up and running when the park opened at 3 p.m.
