Berlin Dog Groomer Continues to Rescue

BERLIN, MD- A woman in Berlin has named herself The Dog Lady, for good cause. A groomer and a rescuer since the age of 19, Patti Adams doesn't plan on slowing down.
"It's my livelihood, it doesn't pay monetarily but spiritually I'm the richest person on earth," Adams said.
Adams says that she has seen everything, from dogs abandoned on levies in Arkansas, to dogs chained up in the woods during the winter. But nothing compares to the Eden Puppy Mill, she says, where a couple was indicted on 96 charges of animal cruelty back in January.
"It's something I will never want to see again as long as I live, because there's no words," she said.
She rescued a three-year-old Pomeranian from Eden named Karma, saying, "When I peeled her tail off, I peeled her skin off also. It was glued to her with filth."
Grooming and rescuing for 25 years, she is doing work that the community, and of course her mom can only be proud of.
"She's wonderful, she's one of the kindest, most generous persons, and she's the best groomer," said her mother, Pat Hardy.
In regards to the Eden Puppy Mill, suspects Robert and Susan Murphy were slated to have a trial in October. But, Robert was found to be incompetent for trial and Susan will have a competency hearing in August.
