Two teens arrested for Kent County arson

The Delaware State Fire Marshal's Office says that a Harrington teen and a Magnolia teen have been arrested for the arson fire that happened on Monday afternoon, west of Camden at the former Mike Davidson Recycling facility.
Deputy fire marshals say they followed leads from bystanders and witnesses on the day of the fire that led to the arrests. The teens were reportedly seen leaving the property at the time of the fire and riding away on bicycles east towards Camden.
Descriptions of the bikes and description of the suspects were given to responding officers, and both suspects were reportedly found in a ditch, in an agricultural field, far off the roadway, east of the fire scene.
Officers say they tried to follow the suspects, but lost sight of them. Deputy fire marshals along with Delaware State Police continued to look for the suspects until nightfall on June 26.
On the days following, Deputy fire marshals continued the investigation and tried to find the suspects. They were able to on Wednesday night.
Arrest warrants for both 15-year-old teens were obtained through Justice of the Peace Court and executed on Wednesday. Both 15-year-old teens were charged with third degree arson, third degree burglary and second degree conspiracy. All charges are felonies.
The teens were released to the custody of their guardians pending a future Family Court appearance.
Damages for the fire are estimated at over $200,000 and are set to rise due to the reported continued response by the Felton Fire Company for areas that continued to burn but that are not easily accessible.
Heavy equipment has been brought to the scene to help in breaking up the large piles of recycled debris and moving portions of the collapsed building to get to areas for better extinguishment.
The Delaware State Fire Marshal's Office thank the public for their help in the case.
