Speeding leads to drug charges for two in Easton

Two people are facing charges after reportedly being found with drugs during a traffic stop in Easton.

The Easton Police say they pulled over a 1999 Chrysler 300 on Saturday around 9 PM, in the area of Ocean Gateway and Lomax Street, for speeding. Officials say while speaking with the driver, 41-year-old Joseph Thomas Jazwinski of Dundalk, MD, they found  that his Maryland driver's license was suspended.

Further investigation during the stop, led to a K-9  scan of the vehicle. Officers reportedly found a metal grinder with Oxycodone pills under the driver seat. Authorities report that the passenger, 44-year-old Tanya Renee Barnett of Dundalk, MD, was in possesion of Suboxone pills.

According to police, both Jazwinski and Barnett were arrested, and transported to the Easton Police Department. Both were reportedly charged with controlled dangerous substance not marijuana. Authorities say they were taken before a Court Commissioner, and released on personal recognizance pending trial.
