Salisbury man arrested for his seventh DUI

Officials say that a Salisbury man was arrested for his seventh DUI on Wednesday.

According to the Wicomico County Sheriff's Office, on Wednesday, members of the Community Action Team stopped a vehicle at High Street and Lemmon Hill Lane in Salisbury. Deputies say they saw the car run a solid red light at East Church Street and Route 13 before the stop.

When the deputy contacted the driver, 42-year-old Jeffrey Dickinson, the deputy reportedly smelled a strong odor of alcohol. Dickinson reportedly failed a series of standardized field sobriety tests and was arrested.

Investigators say that they learned that Dickinson's vehicle already had an ignition interlock device for a prior DUI incident; however, the device was not working.

Deputies also learned that Dickinson has six prior convictions for DUI. Dickinson was released on citations pending a court date.

Besides being charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, Dickinson was also charged with driving while impaired by alcohol, driving on a suspended license and failure to stop at a steady red signal.
