Road shuts down after crash involving tractor trailer

A road in Seaford was shut down for over two hours after a crash involving a tractor trailer on Tuesday morning.

The Seaford Volunteer Fire Department says firefighters responded to Stein Highway around 8:00 a.m after an SUV ran into the tractor trailer and struck a fuel tank which caused fuel to spill.

Officials say that the driver of the SUV then became trapped and had to be rescued by officials. The driver was taken to Nanticoke Memorial Hospital for non life threatening injuries.

The road opened back up around 10:30 a.m. Seaford Police is investigating the cause.
