Officials release 2016 Nanticoke River report card

Officials have released the 2016 Nanticoke River report card.
Both the river and creeks dropped to a C plus. They fell from a B minus and B each. Total nitrogen was the worst indicator, but total phosphorous grades dropped along with chlorophyll which shows runoff pollution and algal blooms.
Summer and autumn storms that caused flooding reportedly brought large amounts of rain and runoff into local waterways.
