Millsboro EMT accused of harassing, groping co-worker

Jerry A. Johnson, 46, of Millsboro, Del.

A Millsboro emergency medical technician is facing unlawful sexual contact sexual and harassment charges in relation to an incident where he allegedly groped a fellow EMT.

According to Delaware State Police, an investigation began last Sunday into an incident in early May where 46-year-old Jerry A. Johnson, of Millsboro, is accused of harassing and touching a 25-year-old female EMT at the Mid-Sussex Rescue Squad.

Investigators say on May 2nd, Johnson and the victim were alone in an office when Johnson reportedly asked the woman to take her shirt off. The victim refused his suggestion several times and left the room, police said. Johnson then reportedly followed her to a different room and lifted her shirt, groping her chest. The woman pushed him away and left, officials said.

Police say the woman complained about the incident to the president of the rescue squad on the 23rd and the 28th, but received no response. She reported it to DSP Troop 7 on the 28th.

On May 29th, Johnson turned himself in to troopers at Troop 7. He is charged with third degree unlawful sexual contact and sexual harassment. He was released on a $600 unsecured bond.
