Md. organization reminds residents about cooling shelters during summer

We usually think about homelessness affecting folks during the wintertime, but with summer just around the corner this can also be a difficult time for those seeking shelter from the extreme heat.

That's why the Homeless Alliance of the Lower Shore is reminding people about cooling shelters during the summertime.

Members of the organization tells us serve about 1,000 people throughout the  three lower counties.
"When it's really hot, all of the counties open up cooling centers. We certainly don't want anyone to suffer from a heat stroke, we want to take care of people in our community they are our neighbors too," says Greta Rolland, from the Homeless Alliance of the Lower Shore.
