Firemens Carnival returns to Hebron

Wednesday night marked the beginning of the annual Hebron Firemen's Carnival, an event that uses proceeds to improve fire fighting activities and community projects.
The first event was held in 1926, and is famous for its Oyster Sandwiches.
Don Beach, formerly the President and Chief of the Hebron Fire Department, says he has seen the carnival and the fire department grow hand-in-hand, and that the fire department could not provide the service it does without this event.
"I'm just glad to be part of the community, glad to be a fireman, as far as I'm concerned, Hebron Fire Company is one of the best fire companies in the world. I've been working here all my life since I was a little boy chasing down balls in the ballstand. I wouldn't know how to act, to have a summer off and not head to the Hebron Carnival and I love every minute of it, and I've loved every year of it."
The carnival will run from Wednesday until Saturday every week until mid July.
