Crisfield High School and Woodson Elementary School closed on Wednesday

Somerset County Public Schools say that because they are working on a water issue, two schools will be closed on Wednesday.

Officials say they have been told there is no water for at least two hours. That means that there would be no water for drinking, flushing toilets or washing hands.

They say that cannot take place in schools so Crisfield High School and Woodson Elementary School are closed. Furthermore, no buses will be picking up students for Woodson Elementary School.

High school students are already being picked up by buses, and any student that has been picked up will be brought to the high school. Students will be brought inside. Once they are organized, they will be put back on buses and sent home.

Staff at each school is also being released for the day, according to officials. However, schools are asking staff that is on their way to please report to help with students that show up.

Officials say they apologize for the late notification and inconvenience this causes but they have to have running water in schools to be open.
