Company One speaks after filing lawsuit against City of Salisbury, fire chief

47 ABC is learning more about a lawsuit filed against the City of Salisbury and Fire Chief Rick Hoppes.
Salisbury Company One/Station 13 Fire Chief Cory Polidore says the lawsuit is regarding 600 items that were purchased by the company over the years, which he says belong to them and not the city.
These items, ranging from uniforms to computers to tools, were never given to the city–they were just used to protect it, Polidore said.
Yesterday 47 ABC reached out to Mayor Jake Day, who said property was left behind at Station One when the firefighters separated from the city. Mayor day said the former Station One volunteers are entitled to reclaim personal property, but that they need to provide proof that they purchased the items with their own money.
Mayor Day said the city plans to file a counter suit claiming that some of the items the volunteers are trying to reclaim were purchased inappropriately with taxpayer dollars.
A source from the city says Chief Hoppes offered Company One the opportunity to pick up some of their stuff but that the city received no response. However, Company One disputes this claim.
A hearing on this matter will take place on June 23rd.
