Wright trial pushed back to August

Leah Wright

The second suspect in the Mitchell's Martial Arts underage sex abuse case has waived her right to a speedy trial. Leah Wright's defense team is asking for more time to prepare.

Wright's two-day trial was supposed to begin Tuesday in Wicomico County Circuit Court, but has now been postponed to August 15.

Wright is facing 23 charges in total including sexual abuse of a minor and sexual solicitation of a minor.

According to police reports Wright helped instructor Zach Bennett sexually abuse a teenage victim at Mitchell's Martial Arts. In one instance police say Wright even acted as a lookout for Bennett.

Prior court records show Bennett is scheduled to testify against Wright in her trial.

Bennett accepted plea deals in both Wicomico County and Worcester County for his crimes in the matter.
