Volunteers renovate OC vacation home for families in need

Tuesday morning, volunteers and Sherwin-Williams employees gathered in Ocean City to spruce up a vacation home for families in need.
"We painted some exterior beams that you see there, they're now white, they were green," says Lamont Hampton, the District Sales Manager for Sherwin-Williams.
The Believe in Tomorrow House By The Sea is a vacation home, that can house up 6 families who have children that are critically ill.
"Different kinds of leukemia, cancer, brain tumors," says Susan Blaney, the Volunteer Program Coordinator for Believe In Tomorrow.
The foundation provides free housing services to families during a child's medical crisis. These services serve as 'mini getaways' for the family, that are meant to raise their spirits during this tough time.
"It's a wonderful way for them to come here and forget about the doctors and nurses and make memories. It is amazing, they have so much fun, the family will come in and sit with you and tell you how important it was, and what it has done with the family," says Blaney.
Over the past 17 years, thousands of families have stayed at this home in Ocean City, and Blaney says it's time it received a face lift to continue welcoming future families.
"This is just the beginning of the volunteer effort to bring more people to visit Ocean City and make Ocean City memories while they are going through treatment," says Blaney.
